Frequently Asked Questions
What is Tres Dias?
Tres Dias is a renewal & restoration weekend for those who desire to follow Jesus. It is Christian, interdenominational, & a prayer, study, & action small group movement.
Tres Dias encourages Christian's to tell others about Christ, emphasizes the love that our Lord has for each of us, & encourages Christians to work in their home congregations & to evangelize.
What happens on a Tres Dias weekend?
A Tres Dias weekend consists of:
Group discussions of topics that are of vital interest to the Body of Christ.
Times of prayer, sharing & fellowship.
Lots of music and singing.
Lots of fun & surprises!
LOTS of food. (This isn't the weekend to plan a fast or begin a diet!).
More surprises!
Most importantly, you can expect that God will meet you exactly where you are.
Who should attend a Tres Dias weekend?
Just as Christ meets you at your point of need, so Tres Dias is designed for those who desire to be strengthened in their faith and to be brought closer to Christ in their discipleship.
Every participant must have a sponsor, who has attended a Tres Dias (or similar) weekend. This sponsor will assist you in preparation for the weekend and, more importantly, assist you after the weekend. If you know someone in your church who has attended a Tres Dias weekend, ask them to tell you more and how to get started. Pray about it, and if you conclude that you should go, submit an application that your sponsor will provide or you can download one on the top of this page. If you don’t know of anyone in your church who has attended a Tres Dias weekend, ask your Minister or look for friends or relatives who have attended similar weekends such as Emmaus or Cursillo. These communities are very similar and have the same basic objectives.
Is this the only Tres Dias?
No, Trinity Valley Tres Dias is an international organization.
The Spanish Tres Dias means “Three Days” which is the length of the “weekend” that is commonly held from Thursday through Sunday. It developed from Cursillo de Christiandad or “short course in Christianity” that started in Spain during the 1940s.
Tres Dias started in the US in 1972 and is overseen by Tres Dias International that is made up of laymen and clergy from around the world.
Where is Tres Dias located?
The Trinity Valley Tres Dias weekends are currently held at Timberline Baptist Camp in Lindale, TX. TVTD doesn't have a physical location we call home. We are made up of multiple churches. So our meeting places can consist of any church that is a part of our community.
What is a Sequela?
One month after the women's weekend we have, what we call, a Sequela. This is for people who have been through a Tres Dias weekend to meet the next upcoming rectors and sign up for the next Tres Dias.
You can bring the kids, friends, family, your favorite potluck dish, desserts are always a favorite, and come have a day of fellowship with Brothers and Sisters in Christ. You’ll be so glad you came!!!
How much does Tres Dias cost?
Trinity Valley Tres Dias is a non-profit organization. So all of our prices are to pay for the weekends themselves. Payment will cover food, supplies, beds, & everything in between.
Team fees - $200
Candidate fees - $200
What is Essentials Training?
Every Tres Dias team member has to go through Essentials training. This is a requirement by Tres Dias International. If someone does not go through Essentials training they will not be able to serve on a Tres Dias weekend.
Essentials training is held by our Leaders Committee at our TVTD meetings.
Essentials training consists of the history of Tres Dias, what it means to sponsor candidates, how to be the best team member you can be, and how to best serve the Lord on a Tres Dias weekend. It helps new team members transition from candidate to effective servants & sponsors.
When's the next Tres Dias weekend?
Trinity Valley Tres Dias has a new weekend twice a year for Men & Women. They are usually at the end of March & September every year (give or take a week).

How do I sponsor a candidate?
Sponsoring a candidate is very important and requires more than just a payment & application. For the best information on how to sponsor someone, contact the person who sponsored you and they can guide you. If that isn't possible, call anyone on our Contact page and they can help you.
Start by printing out an application for your candidate(s).
If you have never sponsored someone before or haven't been through an essentials training, please contact someone for advice. If you haven't been through a weekend like Tres Dias, you cannot sponsor someone.
How do I become involved in Tres Dias?
All are welcome to attend the weekend. There are weekends for men and weekends for women. If you are married, the husband must attend first. Wives usually attend the following weekend.
Attendees must be 21 years of age and sponsored by someone who has previously attended a Tres Dias or similar weekend (such as Emmaus or Cursillo) experience.
If you are interested, print-out and complete the application – Be sure to include required signatures. Then mail to the address at the end of this application. For more joy and purpose in your Christian walk, Tres Dias could be just what you’re looking for.
